Turkey joins the DesignClass system

Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TURKPATENT) participated in the DesignClass system as of May 23, 2022, which is the design classification database of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). TURKPATENT has become the 15th non-EU IP office in the DesignClass.

As part of the joint work carried out by TURKPATENT and EUIPO, the indications of approximately 12 thousand products in the DesignClass were translated into Turkish and matched with other languages.

DesignClass offers a set of user-friendly features in a web environment that can help users find product indications (PIs) in the EUIPO's Harmonised product indications database (HDBPI) that best match the products to which a design applies.
