European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO)

European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) is the official agency of the European Union responsible for managing European Union trademarks and registered Community designs (RCDs). Headquartered in Alicante, Spain, EUIPO provides a centralized system for obtaining intellectual property protection across all EU member states.

Through a single application, businesses can secure trademark or design rights that are valid throughout the European Union. EUIPO examines applications, handles oppositions and cancellations, and maintains public registers for trademarks and designs.

The Office also plays an active role in promoting IP awareness, combating counterfeiting and piracy, and supporting cooperation between national IP offices. Its digital tools and databases facilitate efficient search, filing, and management of IP rights.

EUIPO is a key institution in the European intellectual property system, enabling businesses to protect and manage their brands and designs across a large, unified market.
