The Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT) has recently updated its online filing system by introducing several new electronic transaction options aimed at facilitating patent prosecution procedures and improving the efficiency of online services.
Following the update, applicants and patent attorneys are now able to carry out additional procedures electronically through TÜRKPATENT’s online filing platform. The newly available online services include:
- Submission of second and third examination requests for patent applications;
- Submission of Turkish translations for applications originally filed in foreign languages;
- Requests for restoration of rights;
- Payment of third annuity fees for PCT national phase entries in Türkiye.
The expansion of the online filing system represents another step in TÜRKPATENT’s ongoing digitalization efforts and is intended to simplify procedural formalities for applicants and representatives. By enabling these transactions to be completed electronically, the Office aims to reduce administrative burden, accelerate communication with applicants, and improve accessibility to patent-related services.
The update is particularly important for international applicants entering the Turkish national phase under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), as well as for patent applicants managing examination procedures and maintaining their rights before the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.
TÜRKPATENT has continued to expand its electronic infrastructure in recent years in order to provide faster, more efficient, and more user-friendly intellectual property services for both domestic and foreign applicants.
