The “Summit on Artificial Intelligence, Industry 4.0 and Intellectual Property Law,” organized by the Research and Application Center for Intellectual and Industrial Rights of Ankara University (FISAUM), will be held on 12 February 2018 in Türkiye.
The summit aims to bring together academics, legal practitioners, technology experts, policymakers, and intellectual property professionals to discuss the rapidly evolving impact of artificial intelligence and Industry 4.0 technologies on legal systems and intellectual property rights. The event is considered one of the first academic platforms in Türkiye dedicated specifically to examining AI and Industry 4.0 from both a general legal perspective and an intellectual property law perspective.
During the summit, participants are expected to address a wide range of topics, including the legal status of artificial intelligence-generated works and inventions, patentability issues arising from autonomous technologies, copyright protection in the digital era, data ownership, liability questions, and the broader transformation of industry through automation and smart technologies. The discussions will also focus on how emerging technologies are reshaping innovation ecosystems and challenging traditional concepts within intellectual property law.
The event reflects the increasing importance of interdisciplinary dialogue between technology and law, particularly as artificial intelligence and digital transformation continue to influence global economies and regulatory frameworks. By hosting the summit, FISAUM aims to contribute to academic and professional awareness regarding the opportunities and legal challenges associated with next-generation technologies.
The official poster of the summit is available on FISAUM’s Twitter announcement.
